Energy Quick Facts
Where does Natural Gas come from?
Natural gas comes from organic matter that has been buried beneath the oceans floor and eventually becomes converted into fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas. Large quantities of natural gas are tapped under the surface of the earth; 87% of natural gas used in the United States is produced in this country; the rest comes from Canada.
